In the afternoon we went to the Galleries Lafayette. A beautiful department store.  We enjoyed the food halls; I was stopped from taking a photograph of a marzipan display -- I can't imagine what they thought I was going to do with the photo.  We went to a cafe at the top of the store to relax a bit and enjoy a great view of the city.
We reserved a private tour offered by Paris Photo Tours.  We met Christiane at 8:45 am and stayed with her until 7:30 pm.  I do believe Christiane would have kept going but we were just out of steam and our legs were screaming at us.  Montmartre, St. Germain, Luxembourg Gardens and the Place de la Concorde were among the many areas we wandered.  One of our stops was the grocery store used in filming "Amelie."  I can comfortably recommend Christiane as a guide. We had a delightful day and felt that we were touring with a friend.  That evening Maritza and I took hot baths and had dinner at the hotel as we could barely move.  http://parisphototours.com

This photo was also  taken in Luxembourg Gardens.  Although the statue is not significant, I couldn't ignore the sky -- it really was this blue!
