Varenna

I awoke at 6:30 am to see blue sky. I grabbed my camera and took a photograph so I wouldn’t forget what "blue" looked like. Sure enough, by the time we finished breakfast we were left with skies that were gray and hazy. A small bit of sun appeared in the afternoon.

After a leisurely morning we headed to Lenno to visit the Villa Balbianello. After exiting the ferry we walked to our left to a motorboat. It was just a few minute's ride to the Villa. As the boat turned the corner we were treated to an exquisite vision of the villa. Without reservations (that we were told we needed) we took the 45-minute house tour. Again our timing was perfect as the tour started upon our arrival. The house is very interesting with many museum-quality artifacts and furnishings.
