Maritza went back to the hotel for lunch and I continued on to the 13th Century Villa Monestaro. Even though the weather was not cooperating, I was enchanted with Varenna’s beauty. My friend Marian gave me a CD for my birthday, “Tuscany—A Romantic Journey,” classical Italian music just perfect for the surroundings.
