We dined at El Cavatappi, www.ilcavatappivarenna.it/Home.html, a small restaurant with only five tables. I ordered salad, spaghetti, and duck breast with orange sauce, and Maritza ordered spaghetti, fish, and lemon cake. Cost: 48 euros. We both enjoyed the meal, although my preference for background music would have been something other than the BeeGees.

Varenna

I woke up at 6:30 am. Is that blue sky I see? It was short-lived, remaining cloudy/hazy through the day.

We caught the 9:30 am ferry to the Villa Carlotta and wandered through the terraced gardens. I’ve never seen so many azaleas. I’m not a big shopper, but I do collect kitchen magnets from my travels. I bought one at the Villa’s gift shop for 9 euros.
