We ferried over to Bellagio for lunch. Bilacus is a peaceful and pretty terrace restaurant where we shared a plate of Insalada Caprese.  I enjoyed my spaghetti with clams. Maritza enjoyed her fish. We toasted our birthdays with Asti Spumonti. The meal was very good as was the service. This was one of our favorite restaurants of the trip. Following lunch we split up and wandered through the shops.  www.bilacusbellagio.it/index_eng.html
Maritza was scheduled for a 90-minute massage back at the hotel, so I spent the late afternoon sitting on the terrace working on my journal, listening to Andrea Bocelli, and staring across the lake.  The view of homes dotting the hillside was mesmerizing.  The weather eventually turned dark and we had some drizzle that turned to rain.

Our dinner reservation at Vecchia Varenna (below) was for 8:15 pm. We were given prime seats, but even with heaters it was too cold and damp to eat on the terrace; so what should have been a lovely night dining by the lake, was uncomfortable. I ordered blueberry pasta with a mushroom sauce and leg of rabbit. Maritza ordered pumpkin ravioli and a steak. The pasta dishes were good, but the entrees left something to be desired. Following dinner we both admitted that it would have been okay to skip dinner, but neither wanted to disappoint the other. The cost: 60 euros.
