ABOUT OUR HOTEL

We stayed at Marriott's Courtyard in Neuilly (Note, 2014: The Courtyard is now a Movenpick Hotel, 58 Blvd. Victor Hugo).  This was the second time I stayed at this hotel.  It is located in a quiet, upscale, residential neighborhood.  There's a bus stop around the corner and it is about a 10-minute walk to the Anatole France metro stop.  Restaurants and other services are within an easy walk.  We liked dining in Neuilly as the area is not frequented by tourists.  The Courtyard has a restaurant, a garden and an underground parking garage.  Our quiet, no-smoking room was air-conditioned, plain but adequate in size (especially for Paris), and we had a garden view.  The bathroom was modern and offered more than enough counter space for two women to spread their toiletries easily -- and we had a lot.  The beds were hard.  I read a travel tip recently that suggested packing one of those egg-crate-type foam mattress toppers into a bag -- toss the mattress topper for the trip home and fill the now-empty bag with your purchases.  I'm going to try it next time.
